In this iteration of let me carry that for you the text reperformed comes to form a relationship to the social and physical architecture of Holy Rollers and gestures toward how this space holds language and bodies and how language and performance may be transformed through their reuse in changing contexts.
i read excerpts from let me carry that for you and called on the audience to participate with reading and performing instructions as an attempt at choreographing bodies in the space through an improvised theatrical play. The instructions i posed to audience members led to the formation of a chorus that accumulated and read continuously, an assembly of bodies walking across the creaking floorboards of the stage, a second chorus assembling in the arc of the baptismal pool, a line of bodies laying where the floor dips, concluding with the chorus in the foyer of the former church.
